DR.DAMITA LUCAS
Dr. Damita Lucas is a native of Vailsburg Newark, New Jersey. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Counseling with a Minor in Christian Education from Cornerstone University with Honors. Dr. Lucas is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor with Advanced Certification, a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor, a Certified Temperament Counselor and a Certified Life Coach. She holds seven Board Specialty Certifications from the National Christian Counselors Association and has also earned the New Jersey Family Development Credential from Rutgers University through a curriculum created by Cornell University. Her Family Development Portfolio, A Biblical Approach was incorporated into student and advisor orientations at Rutgers University School of Social Work Institute of Children and Families. Before the expiration of the state program, Damita Lucas received numerous awards including Family Worker of the Year for the Irvington School Abbott Family Outreach Program.
In 1999, Dr. Lucas earned her first counseling certification as a crisis pregnancy counselor simultaneously earning her Ministerial Diploma from the Charles Harrison Mason Bible System of Bible Colleges and Institute as well as completing her training in Deliverance Ministry from Higher Call Ministry. She is an award-winning published poet sharing the power of transformation and deliverance in poetry through God's Word.
Dr. Lucas has been ordained as a church elder since 2001 and has labored in church leadership administration since 1992. Her professional experience in the field of education administration for twenty-six years from nursery to college and in the field of social work for fourteen years has led her to answer the call of God to open a counseling ministry office as a private practice in 2016 serving over 330 families to date. In addition, Dr. Lucas developed a Christian Counseling Certificate program at one of New Jersey's historic Bible Institutes currently seeking the CAI accreditation from the National Christian Counselors Association.
As a Christian entrepreneur and public speaker, Dr. Lucas offers counseling, therapy, life coaching, facilitation training, program consulting and a mentorship program. Dr. Lucas has authored a prayer strategy book released in March 2022, I RECKON I'LL PRAY that sold out in 67 days. In April 2024, she authored her second book, THE ENEMY'S DEEDS that is a self-care daily deliverance book centered in counseling concepts. She understands the vocation of the teaching and writing gifts and utilizes these gifts, when called upon, to strengthen church memberships.
Dr. Lucas has many fond childhood church memories at Newark Miracle Temple including her water baptism under Reverend R. W. Shambach. She continues to be a longtime member over twenty-five years of Higher Call Ministry International established in New Jersey.
Dr. Lucas is honored to be a Presidential Member of both the National Christian Counselors Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. In 2023, Dr. Lucas was licensed as a RENCO Minister and certified by American Association of Christian Counselors as a Mental Health Advocate.
With all of her awards and recognitions from elementary school to entrepreneurship, Dr. Lucas greatest rewards are family, friends and church family and living a circumspect life before the LORD as Creation Therapy has directed her life for greater service, purpose and harmony.
