We are preparing to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The beautiful old hymn “O COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL” reminds us that our Heavenly Father sent His Son, Jesus, to be our Lord and Savior:
O come, all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant,O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem.Come and behold Him, Born the King of angels;
RefrainO come, let us adore Him,O come, let us adore Him,O come, let us adore Him,Christ the Lord
How are you preparing for Jesus’ birthday celebration? Are you decorating your home, planning the Christmas meals, baking, working on the Church Christmas program, or shopping for those special gifts for loved ones and friends?
As you get caught up in the activities of the season, if you are not careful, stress can creep in and pull your thoughts away from the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus’ birthday.
How can we handle this stress? By keeping our thoughts on Jesus! We need to turn to the Holy Scriptures and be reminded of what He tells us:
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” I Peter 5:7
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.
Isn’t it amazing? We are celebrating Jesus’ birthday and He, through the Holy Scriptures, reveals to us how we can handle the stress that can creep upon on us during this most Holy Season.
Remember, it is Jesus’ birthday that we are celebrating, so please keep Him at the heart of all your activities!
We can go to Him in prayer and pour our hearts out to Him and ask Him to shine His face upon us. When you ask Him, He will guide you and direct you with His eternal love.
Then we need to be still, and listen to what He whispers in our heart. He will send the Holy Spirit to fill us with His Love, His Joy, and His Peace.
I want to share the following with you:
Keep your Spirit-life calm and unruffled this Most Holy Season.
Nothing else matters. Leave all to Him.
This is your great task, to get calm in His Presence, not to let one ruffled feeling stay for one moment.
No matter who upsets you, yours is the task to stop all else until absolute calm comes.
See Proverbs 4:23: “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
This year let the Spirit of Christmas dance in your heart, and let your light shine in all that you say and do to glorify the King of Kings!
Shalom Alechem (Peace & Love)
